Narayanhiti palace turns into museum
Monday 16th of June 2008 [ ??????, ???? २, २०६५ ]

Organizing a public function in the Narayanhiti palace after four days of the final exit of the former king Gyanendra saha from the palace, the government hoisted the national flag in the palace turning it into a museum.

Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala inaugurated the national museum by unveiling a sign board bearing the words 'Narayanhiti palace museum'.

Ministers, leaders of political parties, members of the Constituent Assembly, foreign diplomats, heads of constitutional bodies, civil society representatives and media persons were present at the flag-hosting ceremony, which was followed by a tea reception.

The museum will open for the general public in future after making some arrangements for its operation.
